We have just received notification from ASC Liner Services that the Borkum has been instructed to depart Xmas Island and continue onto Singapore.
After discussions with Stevedoring Manager, the prognosis was that the bad weather conditions, which is preventing the Borkum from berthing at Xmas Island, is expected to last for at least another week, if not longer.
The Borkum has already been waiting at Xmas Island for 5 days, and with no chance of berthing, it will continue to sail north bound and discharge all containers on a special south bound call.
At this stage, we anticipate the Borkum arriving south bound at Xmas Island around 26th January 2021.
We apologize for the above, but unfortunately we are at the mercy of weather conditions at Xmas Island.
